The Lake Washington Affordable Multifamily Housing project is a visionary development situated in the dynamic Southport Neighborhood of West Sacramento. Envisioned as a response to the growing need for affordable housing, this project harmoniously blends functionality, aesthetics, and community engagement.

The project consists of two distinct L-shaped building blocks, creatively interconnected by two bridges, forming a central green courtyard that serves as a communal amenity for residents. The architectural layout includes two L-blocks with a four and five-story high wing each. The 4-story tall blocks have been located on the East and West side to allow more lower morning and evening sun light into the central court yard. Balcony towers add a unique touch, providing exterior spaces for each unit while creating identifiable neighborhoods in the facade where residents can identify their home on the exterior of the building. This leads to a more friendly scale and a balanced expression of community versus individual space.

One of the project's standout features is the expansive green space between the buildings and the street, featuring playing fields for residents. This area not only enhances the living experience for inhabitants but also serves as a green space that adds visual interest for the general public passing by.

Nestled in the heart of the Southport Neighborhood, the Lake Washington project is designed to seamlessly integrate into the thriving community. The vibrant architecture and thoughtful landscaping contribute to the overall aesthetics of the neighborhood, establishing it as a positive and enriching addition to the area.

The Lake Washington Affordable Multifamily Housing project aims to not only address the critical need for affordable housing but also to foster a sense of community and well-being among its residents and the broader neighborhood. Through thoughtful design and a commitment to creating a vibrant living environment, this project is poised to become a cornerstone of the Southport community in West Sacramento.
